We asked Valeria to answer a few questions for us. Here are her thoughtful responses.

What do you like about working for 729?

If there is such a thing as the “perfect” day of work, I have experienced it at 729. It is not only that the work itself is deeply gratifying, but also how much 729 Solutions values the work that each individual team member contributes. My colleagues aren’t merely people I work with, but people who are sincere in their joy of working at this company. I’m grateful to have found a company where I can find all of these things together!

What are your hobbies?

I wouldn’t say it is just a hobby, but I love to write. I often imagine completely different or alternative realities, things that actually could be real but they aren’t while wondering what is stopping these things from existing. My favorite genre is science fiction, but currently, I’m trying to write my first police novel.

I have had the opportunity to live in different countries, cities, and towns, all with a body of water. I really enjoy going for a walk or a bike ride around the water and enjoy its beauty.

What are you doing to entertain yourself during COVID-19 Stay At Home orders?

Even during one of the strangest years of my life, I have to say that between work, studying, and taking care of the people I love I didn’t have time left to get bored! I miss the ability to walk freely and without a mask, and the ability to spend time together in person with all of the people I love.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Don’t be afraid to jump into the void; it is never empty. I try to live with this idea in mind. Whenever I’m afraid of a change I remind myself that there is something to be learned from each new experience.

What advice would you give a candidate who wants to join our team of superstars?

Express yourself. Share your thoughts and ideas, they are always heard and welcome at 729 Solutions.

Cats or dogs?

Although I love all animals in general, I would definitely choose dogs. I also want every dog to have a garden where they are free to run, play, and enjoy themselves!

What is your favorite word in the English language?

My favorite word in the English language is “polite,” because there is no single word that can translate the English meaning into Spanish. I find it wonderful that only one word can express such an important concept.

What is your favorite word in another language?

My favorite word in another language is “sirimiri” (from Basque Country) because I love the way it sounds. I also love the meaning: little rain that falls softly and little by little, but continuously. To me, this sounds like the perfect way to live my life.

What is the most inspiring part of your job?

I love having the opportunity to create new things with each new project, each unique in its own way. I enjoy playing with ideas, concepts, colors, and shapes, to find the perfect combination for each client; I couldn’t ask for more as a Graphic Designer!

If you were a superhero, what would your superpower be?

I would love to have the power to read minds and hearts. My goal would be not to violate privacy, but to be able to have a better understanding of others and in consequence, be a better human myself.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A philosopher. I still have it in mind, maybe one day…

If you were a pasta shape, what shape would you be and why?

Definitely, Cheese Sorrentinos, because as soon as you see them you know the best part is inside.

Is there anything else you’d like the world to know about you?

The whole world? Wow… that sounds too big to share.

I think I am many things. I could say I’m a graphic designer, a writer, a creator of strange lamps and objects, a traveler, a dreamer, a human being who doesn’t believe in frontiers but in kindness and respect. I love this Austrian artist Hundertwasser’s sentiment: “I always have the problem of being only one. There are so many things to do and always say: I like to be ten Hundertwassers to do ten times more things.”

“Share your thoughts and ideas, they are always heard and welcome at 729 Solutions.”
