Tell Us More!

Can you start with a brief intro about yourself?

Hi! My name is Adrian. I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with my girlfriend, Juli, and my little cat, Titania.

What do you do here at 729 Solutions?

I’ve worked at 729 for over two years. I started working as a Developer and I’m working towards a Lead Developer role. I mainly do web development in Ruby or Node, but I’m always eager to learn and try new technologies and languages. I also like mobile development and DevOps work. I’ve been coding professionally for about 15 years.

Tell me about your love of soccer.

Soccer is a big part of the Argentinian culture. I started taking soccer lessons when I was 6 – even so, I’ve never been good at it!  I’m a big fan of Boca Juniors, the most popular local soccer team. I try to play a match with my friends once per week.

Do you play any other sports?

No, but I do try and exercise from time to time. I like to run and swim.

Do you have any other hobbies outside of work that you want to share?

I enjoy reading and traveling. I love Latin America and its diverse literacy.  As I travel through the continent I usually pick a couple of books by authors who are from my next destination and read them during my stay there. I’m also doing some research in machine learning and financial analysis.

Do you enjoy cooking?

Yes, definitely. I’m not a big fan of ordering food, so we try to cook at home. It’s great to take some time to relax.

What is your favorite thing to cook?

Argentinian asado (barbecue)! It’s kind of a ritual here, and a great opportunity to gather with friends or family.

What is your favorite restaurant in the city/town you live in?

I’m not sure if I can pick only one – but there’s a little Italian restaurant called Pinuccio in the neighborhood of Belgrano. They serve the best pasta I’ve ever had and the atmosphere is amazing.

What kind of philosophy do you study?

A few years after finishing my computer science degree, I started getting curious about philosophy and the humanitarian side of problems.  It’s a contrast to the technical studies I completed before.  So I started down the philosophy path.  I like ancient philosophy, and also took a couple of Ancient Greek language courses.

Are you into studying different philosophers specifically or different philosophical ideas?

Not anyone specifically, but I’m particularly interested in how the ideas proposed by ancient philosophers (Plato or Aristotle for example) impact modern or contemporary philosophy. I really like how this is represented by authors like Nietzsche or Foucault.

Anything else you want to tell the world about yourself or working at 729?

I really enjoy working at 729, the team and culture are amazing. Thanks for having me here!
