We asked Cesar to answer a few questions for us. Here are his thoughtful responses.

What do you like about working for 729?

Even though we’re a virtual company, 729 goes out of their way to make it feel like we are all in the same office. I also like the diversity of projects and technology that we use. I feel like I’m always learning something new, so it’s impossible to get bored.

What are your hobbies?

My hobbies are photography, cooking, and playing soccer. I always try to spend at least a couple of hours a week doing each of these things and giving myself time away from the keyboard for a while.

What are you doing to entertain yourself during COVID-19 Stay At Home orders?

It’s been a challenge during the pandemic to practice photography or play soccer, so I’ve focused more on improving my cooking. I’ve also watched quite a few movies and TV series!

I also became a first-time father during the pandemic, so I have learned how to deal with a baby; I assure you that that kept me very busy.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Always try to do your best with the tools that you have. Sometimes your toolbox will be empty but do your best anyway.

What advice would you give a candidate who wants to join our team of superstars?

I would suggest keeping things simple, being proactive, and always being patient with your coworkers. It’s also important to learn and teach every day, as well as having fun. If we spend 6-8 hours a day in front of a computer, it helps to enjoy the work and make it fun.

Cats or dogs?

Don’t make me choose just one! I like both, and I have a dog and two cats. Sometimes I prefer dogs because they are more fun and sweet, but cats are mysterious and independent, which means they are amazing, too.

What is your favorite word in the English language?

My favorite word in the English language is “hilarious,” although I’m not entirely sure why! It’s simply a funny word and the meaning represents something that will surely make you laugh and have a good time.

What is your favorite word in another language?

My favorite word in another language is “espectacular.” Spanish is my native language, and “espectacular,” meaning “spectacular,” is a great and funny word to let you know how wonderful something really is.

What is the most inspiring part of your job?

I like the creative part of programming and software development. We’re always working on creating a virtual world for our clients’ needs, whether it is for a very specific business solution or complex world-building projects such as a video game. It is very satisfying when you create something that emulates reality.

If you were a superhero, what would your superpower be?

I would like to control time and go to the past and future whenever I want. I like the idea of being present at an important historical event, and changing one small thing that has a greater impact in the future. It’s fun to dream about what could be done with the ability to change the important events in history.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I always wanted to be a soccer player; I loved practicing the sport.

If you were a pasta shape, what shape would you be and why?

It would be a ravioli because it is very tasty and you can create any filling you can imagine. You don’t need more than 6 or 8 ravioli to be satisfied, and it’s something you don’t eat every day. Making ravioli involves a more complex cooking process, so it becomes a special occasion dish.

Is there anything else you’d like the world to know about you?

I am a simple man who likes simple things, but always things well done and with dedication. I like to share time with friends, but I also value time alone and silence. I don’t like conflict, so I always try to be kind and peaceful.

I am a soccer fan and my favorite team is River Plate. I live with my partner Silvina and our little five-month-old daughter.
